DJ Praful requires no introduction to the world of heavy metal and rock. The bassist of legendary metal band 'Millennium' joining the camp at Vin Sinners makes for quite a story. DJ Praful began as bassist for Chennai based metal band MAIDS back in 1989 and continued to play with them till 1993. In 1993-94, Praful and Vin explored the possibility of forming a band and even got together for a few jams and rehearsals but never got down to playing live.
Just before moving to Bangalore, Praful was playing at a concert in a small town called Palghat where the boys from Millennium were in attendance. Millennium, already a band with two records out was at the time the prime game in heavy metal in India. Praful was told that if at some point, they required the services of a bassist, they'd approach him and him alone.
Praful moved to Bangalore and pursued a career as a DJ (earning the title DJ) and started to gain a following for his interesting approach to the profession given his exposure to some of the hardest and heaviest bands on the planet at that time.
In 1997, Praful was approached by Millennium to join them. The rest as they say is history. The band continued to tour and enthrall audiences across the country. In 2014, the band got together for a reunion tour.
Meanwhile, Praful and Vin continued to remain in touch about the progress of Vin Sinners after Vin formed the band.
In 2015, Vin approached Praful to join the band after Johan left the band and the rest of it just fell into place.
"It's great to be back working on new music, original music and Vin Sinners although based in Dubai has a lot of new ideas. Vin is one of my oldest friends on the music circuit and this new record has a lot of interesting elements that work well for me" - DJ Praful.
